Can I use different types of paper in one print job?

Yes - Often the center spread and outside pages will run in a brighter and/or heavier paper stock such as Groundwood upgrade or Bookstock. This is commonly referred to as a "wrap". It allows the customer to run the bulk of the publication in a more economical paper stock and have the "show case" pages on a nicer stock.

Can you print an 8 ˝" X 11" single sheet?

No - Eagle Web Press is a cold offset web press. Our paper comes in large rolls. We do not do individual sheet work. Please see "The Printing Process" under our Production Department for more information regarding web printing.

What is the minimum number of copies you will print?

We have a minimum press run of 1000 copies. For jobs requiring glue binding or in double parallel format the minimum press run is dictated by the specification for that project.

What kind of turn around time can I expect?

Turn around time varies from job to job. Factors that weigh in determining turn around time include:

  1. size and difficulty level of the job
  2. press time available
  3. advance notification of schedule requirements
  4. proofs
  5. bindery or other requirements needed

An average turn around time for medium size jobs is one to two weeks.

What kind of binding options are available?

We offer in-line glue and trim. These options are completed as the printed piece comes off the press and do not require additional time in the bindery department. We also offer in - house saddle stitching. This is where the components are gathered into the proper sequence and bound with two metal stitches running through the center spine of the book. Other bindery arrangements may be made as needed.

What about inserts?

We are able to insert a broad range of different inserts. If you are considering having an insert or inserts in your publication, please contact your account representative to discuss placement of insert, costs and size limitations.

What about color?

We specialize in quality Process Color printing. Or choose any spot color from the Pantone Color U (un-coated) Collections. Cost for color may be added into your base estimate or you may choose to have it priced as an option. You may request a schematic from our Customer Service department to determine color placement.

Will I see a proof?

Proofs are highly recommended. There are several types of proofs to choose from. Plotter proofs are a low-resolution proof showing color placement, text flow and graphic elements. Blueline proofs, also called Dylux, are proofs made directly from the film output for your job. It is more costly to make corrections or changes from a Blueline proof because it requires making new film. Color Key proofs are recommended for complicated process color jobs. A color key gives the most accurate representation of the colors to be printed on your publication.
